Todays article is going to cover how you can create a PayPal account in Ghana , Nigeria or any other country wether PayPal restricted or not.
What is PayPal and is it even important ?
PayPal is a payment service which help individuals and businesses make payment easier online. Since 1998, PayPal has been giving consumers alternative ways to make purchases and send and receive money online.
PayPal lets you pay for things online with a bank account instead of a credit card and keeps your payment information hidden from merchants.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS TO CREATE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT IN GHANA AND NIGERIA 2023
STEP 1: Go to paypal.com (this will take you to PayPal’s home page )
STEP 2: Change location from US to UAE.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “US” flag.
- This will take you to a new page where you can find all the countries PayPal supports.
- Now scroll down to the “Asia Pacific” countries and select “United Arab Emirates.
STEP 3: Sign Up For PayPal
- Click on “Sign up for free” from the homepage
- Choose account type as “Business Account” and click “continue”.
- Now enter a valid email address (email which is active and can receive emails) , click “Continue”
- Enter your preferred password ( 8 - 20 Characters with numbers , upper and lower letters and symbols) and click “Continue”
STEP 4: Business Information
Enter your first and last Legal Names and also enter the name of your business (it can be the your name ).
Business Phone Number : Choose your country code and enter a valid mobile number
Business Address : Enter the name of the Region or State you are in as the “P.O Box” and the capital city as the “city”.
Choose Emirate: Choose Emirate as “Dubai”
Tick the Agree and Continue Box and click on Agree and Continue
- Choose business type as “Individual/Sole Proprietorship” and click on continue.

STEP 5: Identity Verification
- Enter legal “Date Of Birth” (same as on your ID).
- Choose Nationality (the country you are a citizen of).
- Choose ID type and enter ID number ( NOTE: you can’t use VOTERS ID , if you are in Ghana you can use your GHANA CARD , PASSPORT AND DRIVERS LICENSE.
- Now click in Submit and your PayPal account will be created successfully.
You are not done yet, you have to do email verification, identity verification and also link your credit or Visa card and I will cover all those in another post.
